We invite submissions of papers to this symposium. Submissions will take the form of an extended abstract (between 1500 and 2000 words, not including references). Each abstract will be reviewed by at least two reviewers, following a double-blind process. Authors of accepted abstracts will be asked to submit the complete paper which will form part of the symposium proceedings.
The proceedings will both be hosted on this symposium webpage, and the proceedings shall be submitted to CEUR-WS.org for online publication.
At least one author of all accepted papers must attend the conference and deliver a 30-minute presentation (remote presentations are not accepted). If the no presentation is made, the paper will be removed from the proceedings prior to its submission to CEUR-WS for online publication.
We welcome contributions from areas that include (but are not limited to):
The representation of values, preferences, and goals
The relationships between values, preferences, and goals, e.g., between values and preferences or values/preferences and goals
The similarities or differences between values and preferences
Argument, reasoning, or decision making when values are in conflict
Alignment and misalignment of values/preferences
Changes in values and preferences in context to enable dynamic and reactive reasoning
Software and programming libraries for the development of value-based or preference-based agents
Open-source datasets or simulations to allow for the comparison of different methodologies
Applications of value-based or preference-based reasoning
Extended abstract submission deadline (1500-2000 words). Be sure to use the correct formatting (as described below) and submit your abstract using the submission instructions below.
Reviews and notification of acceptance are circulated to authors.
Complete and camera ready versions of papers must be completed and uploaded to the submission portal.
Symposium hosted at AISB 2026. Accepted papers will present their work via a 30-minute presentation.
Both extended abstracts and camera ready papers shall be formatted according to the CEUR workshop template:
The submission of extended abstracts should be between 1500 and 2000 words in length (not including references). Submissions should be made anonymous to conform with the double-blind review process.
The final version of the paper submitted for it's compilation into the symposium proceedings should be no longer than 10 pages in length (including references).
